Salt Capital concludes another investment in Namibia with the acquisition of a leading Namibian private hospital

London, 11 November 2024

Salt Capital, a growth capital investment manager with extensive experience in assisting African businesses to scale, is proud to announce that it has acquired Rhino Park Private Hospital, a leading multi-disciplinary private hospital based in north Windhoek, Namibia.

Founded over 30 years ago, Rhino Park first opened its doors as a day hospital with two operating theatres and a primary health care clinic. Since then, the hospital has evolved into a 120-bed and four operating theatre full-service hospital, with a specialism in maternity and neonatal healthcare.

By partnering with the management team of Rhino Park, Salt Capital will bring additional resources, know-how and support to spearhead the expansion and growth plans of the hospital and further enhance the health care offering to the community at large.

At the heart of Salt Capital’s investment ethos is the ‘Ripple Effect’; a concept of targeting both far reaching financial returns and impact driven outcomes. The investment in Rhino Park is directly aligned with this ethos and provides Salt Capital a great opportunity to transform healthcare delivery in Namibia.

Salt Capital is aligned with Rhino Park’s core values of providing accessible, dignified and affordable patient care to the people of Namibia and as the new owner of the hospital, will continue to focus on sustainable and impact driven growth.  Salt Capital has a proven track record of partnering with Namibian businesses and brings with them a core team of uniquely experienced professionals who specialise in the SADC markets.

Jan Bosch, Managing Partner at Salt Capital, comments: “Today marks an exciting milestone for our firm as we close this transaction, bringing together a shared vision and complementary strengths of Salt Capital and the management team of Rhino Park hospital to create lasting value. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, our partners, and all those who contributed to making this deal possible. We extend our sincere gratitude to our debt funding partners, Blue Earth Capital, for their invaluable support and confidence, which played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life. We look forward to supporting Rhino Park to continue on its journey of growth and service to the community and are confident in our ability to drive meaningful impact and deliver strong returns for all our stakeholders.’’
