Founded in 2001, Chill Beverages markets and sells unique beverage ranges using high quality ingredients obtained from reputable global suppliers. The business introduced the first range of sugar-free mixers to consumers in Southern Africa and employs sophisticated manufacturing processes which ensures that Chill Beverages is highly regarded by numerous national and multi-national companies.

State of the art filling technology and expert knowledge in all areas of blending, quality control, procurement, packaging and transport have made Chill Beverages the contract producer of choice for some of South Africa’s and the World’s most esteemed brands and companies. Salt Capital invested the growth capital at the time that enabled the business to launch the iconic Fitch & Leedes and Score Energy brands, which included installing further production lines and significantly expand bottling and canning capacity.

An innovative food brand, dedicated to bringing delicious ethically sourced and locally crafted smoked pork products to South African consumers. Woody’s has a large production facility in the Western Cape and supplies many major retailers with its own brand products. Salt Capital invested growth capital for the expansion of the production facilities and product lines.

Founded in 1992 by Lionel Stephenson, Lionel’s Veterinary Supplies focuses on the holistic supply of animal health products and services to the agricultural industry. The company started operations in the Western Cape and has subsequently expanded its footprint nationally and into the SADC region. Salt Capital invested growth capital to expand the product range and geographic footprint of the business.

Deep Catch is a service provider to the food and beverage industry, mainly via large scale commercial cold stores, temperature-controlled distribution and trading (import and export across the African continent). It has significant presence in Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Salt Capital invested growth capital in order to build two additional cold stores and expand the distribution network.

Eyethu Beverages is a beverage business with its main asset being a cider-based fermentation plant.  At the time of Salt Capital’s investment, the business was a contract manufacturer for Strongbow (owned by Heineken) in South Africa. Salt Capital together with a BEE consortium acquired the business.
